Daffodils


The daffodils refers to 'spring'. daffodil is the common name. The official botanical name of the whole genus is Narcissus. Daffodils have been known for thousands of years. The drooping head of the daffodil flower represents Narcissus staring at himself in the water. In Roman days, the Romans thought that daffodil sap had healing properties, and brought it along with them on conquests. It became a well-loved flower everywhere with its early blooming and bright colors. There are thousands of daffodil festivals across the world each spring, celebrating the arrival of the beautiful blossoms.
Daffodils easily grow from bulbs in most temperate climates. They are most known for their yellow color and can have centers in colors ranging from white to yellow to orange.

Changing Rose


This is the flower which changes in three colors. Actually this flower is white when it blooms early in the day. As the day progress it changes the color in to pinkish in the noon. and by evening it goes to the color of dark rose.. Are you surprising about this? it is true. but the name in the title may not be true. I will be thankful if anybody send me the original name of that flower.

Hibiscus Rosa -Sinensis

The exact origin of the plant Hibiscus rosa -sinensis is unknown.it is generally thought to have originated in South China.The plant with deep-red flowers is believed to have an Asian origin, hence the name rosa-sinensis meaning 'rose of China'. Hybrid hibiscus flowers are today available in pink, yellow, orange, purple, lavender or in multicolour forms. Hibiscus rosa sinensis is the national flower of Malaysia.
The natives of southern India use the Red hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) for hair care purposes. The red flower and leaves, extracts of which can be applied on hair to tackle hair-fall and dandruff on the scalp. It is used to make hair-protective oils.its petals are used to cure fever while its roots are used to cure cough.

Jasmine


This is the flower of Frgrance. It is also Known as Moghra, Kundumalligai, Arabian Jasmine. Mallika are some of the other names used for the Jasmine. In India Jasmine is called the 'Moonshine in the garden'.
Jasmine oil is used used for making perfumes and incense. Its flowers are used to flavour Jasmine tea and other herbal or black tea. Its oil is also used in creams, shampoos and soaps. In India Jasmine flowers are stringed together to make garlands. Women in India wear this flower in their hair. Some communities even use this flower to cover the face of the bridegroom. Jasmine plant is found in almost all the parts of India.

Lotus


The Lotus or the Water Lily is an aquatic plant with broad floating green leaves and bright fragrant flowers that grow only in shallow waters. Based on the color of its flower, it is divided into two types, the red lotus flower and the white lotus flower. The beautiful flowers float and have many petals overlapping in a symmetrical pattern. the Lotus symbolises divinity, fertility, wealth, knowledge and not to forget enlightenment. The seed, the leaf and the stem are edible and also can be used as a medicine.
